Shalom Festival
Dit kleurrijke en multiculturele evenement gaat jaarlijks door in Brussel en Antwerpen. Het is een samenwerking tussen de evangelische christenen en de Joodse gemeenschap van Antwerpen en Brussel. Elk met behoud van hun eigen identiteit, treden ze samen naar buiten met een boodschap van vrede naar het grote publiek, op straat en in de media.
-Enkele uitspraken op het festival-
En zo hebben gedurende 2000 jaar de Joden van generatie op generatie ditzelfde Bijbelvers herhaald: ‘Indien ik u zou vergeten, o Jeruzalem, dan mag mijn rechterhand mij vergeten.’ Vandaag zijn het andere verzen die ons op de lippen liggen: ‘Bid Jeruzalem vrede toe: mogen wie u liefhebben, rust genieten; vrede zij binnen uw muur, rust in uw burchten. Om mijn broeders en mijn vrienden wil ik zeggen: Vrede zij in u.’

“Toonaangevend op zoveel terreinen rond milieu is het Beloofde Land en steeds meer landen, bedrijven en personen overal ter wereld maken daar gebruik van. De Israëlische druppeltechnologie kent iedereen wel. Het minder gekende verhaal achter de landbouwkundige innovaties is dat ze zijn ontstaan als antwoord op een noodsituatie toen men voor de oprichting van de staat Israël, geen zaden meer wilde verkopen aan de Joden. Niet met een klimaatmars maar met hoop gingen Israëlieten aan de slag. Geen paniek, geen gespijbel en geen aanklacht naar anderen toe. Zo is het heropleven van de natuur en het planten van bomen in Israël tot stand gekomen. Dat is geen sinecure als je weet dat maar liefst 60% van het land woestijngebied is. Israël kende een ecorealisme nog voor de term ooit bedacht werd. De belangrijkste boodschap is hoop. Mensen zijn tot uitzonderlijke prestaties in staat om problemen op te lossen. Israël is een licht voor de naties ook hierin.”

Shalom Festival
This colorful and multicultural event takes place annually in Brussels and Antwerp. It is a collaboration between the evangelical Christians and the Jewish community of Antwerp and Brussels. Each while maintaining their own identity, they come out together with a message of peace to the general public, on the street and in the media..
-Some statements at the festival-
And so, for 2,000 years, the Jews from generation to generation have repeated this same Bible verse: “If I should forget thee, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget me.” Today we have other verses on our lips: “Pray peace to Jerusalem: may those who love you have rest; peace be within your walls, rest in your fortresses. To my brothers and my friends I will say: Peace be in you.”

The Promised Land is at the forefront regarding environmental issues and more and more countries, companies and individuals worldwide are following them. Everyone is aware of the Israeli drop technology. What is less well known is the story behind the agricultural innovations. These started as an answer to a need, when no one wanted to sell seeds to the Jews before the establishment of the State of Israel. Israelites went to work, without a climate march, but with hope! No panic, no cheating, no blaming others. This is how the revival of nature and the planting of trees in Israel came about. That is no near feat when you realize that 60% of the land is desert. Israel knew about Eco realism, even before the term was even coined. The most important message is hope. People are capable of outstanding achievements in problem solving. Israel is a light for the nations indeed.

During the terror of the rocket attacks in Yated, a little town near the border of the Gaza Strip, I decided to rise above the fear, to create something out of the destruction. I survived the attacks twice. I remoulded the instruments of death into objects, full of beauty and peace. My message to the opponents is that communication is better than war. My inspiration is the Bible statement of the prophet Isaiah 2:16b. ‘They will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks’ (NIV).

Shalom Festival
Cet événement coloré et multiculturel se passe chaque année à Bruxelles et à Anvers. Il s’agit d’une collaboration entre les chrétiens évangéliques et la communauté juive de Bruxelles et d’Anvers. En conservant chacun sa propre identité, ils se rejoignent avec un message de paix au public, dans la rue et vers les médias.
-Quelques déclarations au festival-
‘Et alors que pendant plus de deux millénaire, les juifs de génération en génération, ont répété le verset biblique : « Si je t’oublie Jérusalem, que ma main droite oublie de me servir », aujourd’hui, ce sont d’autres versets qui nous viennent aux lèvres : « Qu’ils soient heureux ceux qui t’aiment. Que la paix règne dans tes murs, la sécurité dans tes palais. Pour mes frères et mes amis, je t’offre tous mes vœux de bonheur ».’

La Terre promise est à l’avant-garde en matière d’environnement et de plus en plus de pays, d’entreprises et de particuliers dans le monde entier la suivent. Tout le monde est au courant de la technologie israélienne en matière de gouttes. Ce qui est moins connu, c’est l’histoire derrière les innovations agricoles. Celles-ci ont commencé comme une réponse à un besoin, lorsque personne ne voulait vendre de semences aux Juifs avant la création de l’État d’Israël. Les Israéliens se sont mis au travail, sans marche pour le climat, mais avec espoir ! Pas de panique, pas de tricherie, ne pas blâmer les autres. C’est ainsi qu’est née la relance de la nature et la plantation d’arbres en Israël. Ce qui n’est pas une mince affaire quand on sait que 60% du territoire est désertique. Israël connaissait l’éco-réalisme avant même que le terme ne soit inventé. Le message le plus important est l’espoir. Les gens sont capables d’accomplissements exceptionnels dans la résolution de problèmes. Israël est vraiment une lumière pour les nations.

Shalom ne peut être aveugle à la vérité et à la justice. Pendant la terreur des attaques à la roquette à Yated, une petite ville près de la frontière de la bande de Gaza, j’ai décidé de dépasser la peur, de créer quelque chose à partir de la destruction. J’ai survécu deux fois aux attaques. J’ai remodelé les instruments de la mort en objets, pleins de beauté et de paix. Mon message aux opposants est que la communication est préférable à la guerre. Mon inspiration est la déclaration biblique du prophète Isaïe 2:16b. « Ils feront de leurs épées des socs de charrue et de leurs lances des serpes” (NIV).
